The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Mr. Kurt Okraku, has paid a courtesy call on the Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), Mr. Malik Basintale, to explore strategic collaborations aimed at creating sustainable job opportunities for young Ghanaians through the dynamic world of football.

The high-level engagement centred on identifying innovative ways to harness the transformative potential of sports, particularly football, as a powerful tool for youth empowerment, professional development, and long-term job creation. Both leaders discussed how the football ecosystem, which extends far beyond the pitch, can serve as a hub of diverse career opportunities for young people, including roles in coaching, sports medicine, officiating, administration, media, logistics, event management, marketing, and facility operations.

Mr. Okraku and Mr. Basintale also emphasized the importance of building structured pathways that support talent development while ensuring young people are equipped with the skills and training required to excel within the football value chain. By aligning the strengths of the GFA with YEA’s mandate for youth employment, the partnership has the potential to unlock new avenues for thousands of young people across the country.

This engagement marks a significant step toward deepening institutional partnerships committed to youth advancement, national development, and the strategic use of sports as a driver of social and economic progress. It reflects a shared vision of empowering Ghana’s youth and ensuring they can fully benefit from opportunities within one of the fastest-growing sectors in the world of sports.
