The Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency YEA Mr. Kofi Baah Agyepong, as part of his scheduled programme for the year 2023 and with support of the Governing Board completed the series of nationwide regional tours arranged by the Agency to enable him to touch base and formally have interactions with the staff across the districts and regions of the country.
He rounded -off his scheduled visits with a tour of the five (5) Northern regions to crown his maiden visit to the 16 regions of the country. The meeting afforded him the opportunity to have fruitful staff durbars in the various regions, inspect offices and interact with the staff of the Agency and have first -hand information on issues bothering on staff welfare, beneficiaries recruitment, and other related issues. In his engagements with the staff, the CEO also assured to run an all- inclusive decentralised administration and proper job creation for the youth of Ghana at the district level.
This last leg of the tour began on Wednesday, the 15th of March 2023, in the Northern and Savannah Regions. The team then proceeded to the Upper West Region on Thursday, 16th March 2023 and ended in the Upper East and North East on Friday 17th March 2023. He was accompanied by the Deputy CEO in charge of Operations and a section of his Management members from the headquarters. The idea of the nationwide tour was to introduce him to the staff at the Districts and the Regional levels following his appointment by His Excellency the President some nine months ago. Again, the visits were to afford him the opportunity to acquaint himself with the state of affairs of the various YEA Metropolitan, Municipal and District offices in the regions.
The tours which were arranged in phases had already taken the CEO and his team on the first phase covering a 3-Day Working visit to the Eastern Region on Wednesday 15th February 2023, the Volta region on the 16th February 2023 and the Oti Region on Friday 17th February 2023 during which he held staff durbars and used the opportunity to present the year’s road map for the Agency. The formal and informal interactions with the staff also provided the platform to address shortcomings and challenges confronting the staff. Mr. Agyepong noted plans underway to create more employment opportunities for beneficiaries and a better working conditions for staff as well.
The Second phase of the tour took place in the Ahafo region, Bono East Region, Bono Region and the Ashanti region. The tour began on 22nd February 2023 in the Ahafo region where the CEO and his team had interactions with the staff followed by inspection of their newly built YEA Regional Office complex. The CEO entourage proceeded on Thursday 23rd February 2023 to the Bono and Bono East region respectively and rounded off the visit on Friday 24th February 2023 in the Ashanti region.
The third phase of the tour took the CEO and his entourage to the Central region, Western and the Western North regions.
