Following the amicable solution to the impasse that arose out of fears entertained by the Ghana Registered Nurse and Midwives Association (GRNMA) that the Community Health Workers (CHWs) being recruited by the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) to work in the health facilities were going to take over the jobs of Community nurses, the over six thousand (6000) CHW Beneficiaries have successfully completed their training programmes and passed out at the various regional training centres across the country.

The Chief Executive Officer of the YEA, Mr. Kofi Baah Agyepong, graced the main passing- out and closing ceremony in Koforidua on Friday October 14 2022, during which he announced a hundred percent (100%) increment of the allowances for the CHWs from the paltry GHC 250.00 to GHC 500.00 as a motivation to give off their best at the work place.

He also noted that, as part of the Exit strategy, arrangements had been with the Ministry of Health (M.O.H) to place premium on applications for beneficiaries during admissions into the various Nursing Training Schools as a result of the practical experience they would gather on the field.

The CEO reiterated the commitment and the resolve of the government of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to provide the needed support to fight the menace of unemployment among the youth of Ghana.
