Following the decision of the current government to downsize and realign the various Ministries to save costs, avoid duplication and enhance efficiency, the changes has affected some Departments and Agencies operating under the direct supervision of the various Ministries.
The newly created Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment has now assumed responsibility as the sector Ministry for the Youth Employment Agency (YEA)

The modified Ministry of Employment Labour Relations, hitherto, had direct supervisory role over the YEA until the recent realignment of the various ministries.
This revelation of new oversight responsibility followed a working visit by the Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment, Mr. George Opare Addo to the YEA Head office on Wednesday 29th January 2025 where he was introduced to the staff and announced himself as the new sector Minister with direct supervisory role over the Agency.

His brief visit was part of his on-going calls at the various Agencies and Departments listed under the care of the new Ministry.
He announced his mission to familiarize himself with the office and to gain first -hand knowledge of the operational structure and activities of the Agency as the sector Minister.

To a proposal made to him by the Management, he promised to take up the challenge towards working assiduously to get a permanent head office for the Agency.
