The Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), Malik Basintale, together with the Deputy Chief Executive Officer and members of Management, paid a courtesy call on the Paramount Chief of the Sunyani Traditional Area, Nana Odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen Korkor II, as part of the Agency’s official tour of Sunyani in the Bono Region.
The visit formed part of YEA Management’s ongoing stakeholder engagement efforts aimed at strengthening relationships with traditional authorities and discussing initiatives focused on youth empowerment, skills development, and sustainable employment creation within the region.
The delegation was warmly received at the palace by the Paramount Chief and his elders, where discussions centered on the importance of collaborative efforts to address youth unemployment and improve opportunities for young people across the Bono Region.
During the engagement, Nana Odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen Korkor II commended the leadership of the Youth Employment Agency for its commitment to creating sustainable employment opportunities for young Ghanaians through various intervention programmes and strategic initiatives.
The Paramount Chief acknowledged the positive impact of the Agency’s work on the lives of many young people and encouraged Management to continue expanding its programmes to reach more communities and beneficiaries nationwide.
He further emphasized the critical role employment and skills development play in reducing social and economic challenges among the youth, adding that initiatives that empower young people ultimately contribute to national growth and community development.
In recognition of his efforts and dedication to youth empowerment, the Paramount Chief conferred on Mr. Basintale the honorary title of Mmranteɛhene (Youth Chief) of Sunyani.
The honour, bestowed during the visit, symbolized the traditional area’s appreciation for the CEO’s contributions toward promoting youth employment and supporting initiatives aimed at improving the livelihoods of young people across the country.
Receiving the honour, Mr. Basintale expressed profound gratitude to the Paramount Chief and the people of the Sunyani Traditional Area for the recognition and warm reception accorded to him and his team.
The CEO described the honour as both humbling and motivating, noting that it serves as an encouragement to continue pursuing impactful programmes that create opportunities and hope for the youth of Ghana.
