The Youth Employment Agency (YEA), in collaboration with the Ghana National Ambulance Service, has successfully conducted the passing-out ceremony for the final batch of Community Medical First Responders (CMFRs) at the National Ambulance Training Center in Nkenkaaso, Ashanti Region. This milestone marks the official completion of one of the largest emergency-care training initiatives ever undertaken in Ghana.

The nationwide programme designed under the leadership of YEA CEO Mr. Malik Basintale aimed to train and deploy 6,000 young Ghanaians to strengthen pre-hospital emergency care across the country. With the graduation of this last cohort, all 6,000 responders have now been fully trained, equipped, and prepared to support Ghana’s emergency healthcare system.

These newly qualified CMFRs have acquired essential lifesaving skills, including first aid, basic life support, trauma response, and community-level emergency care. Their deployment will significantly enhance the capacity of the Ghana National Ambulance Service, particularly in hard-to-reach and underserved communities where immediate medical intervention is often critical to saving lives.

This achievement underscores YEA’s commitment to empowering young people with practical, life-impacting skills while contributing meaningfully to national development. By completing this large-scale deployment, the Agency has not only created thousands of sustainable jobs but also strengthened Ghana’s resilience in emergency response and community health support.

The successful passing-out of the final batch of CMFRs stands as a testament to the power of strategic partnerships and youth-centered interventions in advancing national progress and improving public safety.
