Tesano, Accra – August 27, 2025

The Youth Employment Agency (YEA), in collaboration with the Ghana Police Service, has successfully passed out thousands of young men and women under the Community Protection Assistants (CPA) module at a grand ceremony held at the Tesano Police Training School.

This latest graduation brings the total number of Community Protection Assistants trained and deployed nationwide to 12,000—a major milestone in the government’s ongoing efforts to enhance community policing and create sustainable employment opportunities for the youth.

The ceremony was attended by the Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment, who lauded the initiative as a strategic intervention to address youth unemployment while supporting law enforcement efforts at the community level.

Chief Executive Officer of YEA, Mr. Malik Basintale, also addressed the gathering, highlighting the Agency’s commitment to empowering the youth and promoting national security through strategic partnerships. “This is not just about jobs,” he noted, “it’s about building a safer Ghana while creating hope and opportunities for our young people.”

The CPA module is one of YEA’s flagship programs, aimed at equipping Ghanaian youth with basic policing and community engagement skills to support the Ghana Police Service in maintaining law and order, especially in underserved communities.

This initiative aligns with government’s broader vision of job creation and community development, reinforcing its #JobsForAll and #CommunityPolicing agenda.
