The Youth Employment Agency (YEA), in partnership with the Ghana Prisons Service, has successfully held the Passing-Out Ceremony for the second batch of Prison Service Assistants under the Agency’s Prison Assistants Module. The ceremony, held at the Ankaful Maximum Security Prison in the Central Region, marks another major milestone in the nationwide initiative aimed at strengthening Ghana’s correctional system while empowering young people with meaningful employment.

Representing the Agency, the Deputy CEO, Mr. Abubakari Saana Abdul-Kudus, led the ceremony on behalf of YEA CEO Malik Basintale. In his remarks, he reaffirmed the Agency’s unwavering commitment to creating decent, purposeful job opportunities for Ghanaian youth through strategic partnerships with key national institutions. He commended the recruits for their hard work, discipline, and dedication throughout their training, encouraging them to approach their new roles with professionalism and a strong sense of national duty.

The successful passing-out of this second cohort adds to the Agency’s ongoing efforts to train and deploy 5,000 young Ghanaians to support the operations of the Ghana Prisons Service. These newly trained assistants will contribute to correctional administration, inmate rehabilitation support, facility management, and the overall enhancement of Ghana’s internal security framework.

This initiative stands at the heart of YEA’s mission to provide sustainable employment opportunities while strengthening the systems and institutions that uphold national development. By equipping young people with essential skills and structured career pathways, the Agency continues to foster a workforce that is empowered, service-oriented, and committed to contributing meaningfully to Ghana’s progress.

The Youth Employment Agency extends its congratulations to all newly passed-out Prison Service Assistants as they embark on their journey of service to the nation.
