The Youth Employment Agency (YEA), under the leadership of CEO Malik Basintale, has officially launched the training programme for the newly shortlisted Community Police Assistants, marking another major milestone in the Agency’s drive to create purposeful employment opportunities while supporting national security efforts. The opening ceremony, held in partnership with the Ghana Police Service, brought together key dignitaries, including the Deputy Minister for the Interior and senior officers of the Police Administration, underscoring the importance of this collaboration.
This launch signifies the beginning of a rigorous and well-structured training initiative aimed at preparing thousands of young Ghanaians to take on crucial supporting roles within the nation’s law enforcement system. Participants will undergo extensive instruction in areas such as basic policing procedures, community engagement, crime prevention strategies, discipline, and ethical conduct. The programme is designed to empower trainees with the practical knowledge and professionalism required to enhance community policing, strengthen public safety, and foster stronger relationships between citizens and the police.

Addressing attendees, CEO Malik Basintale reaffirmed YEA’s steadfast commitment to equipping the youth with meaningful opportunities that not only improve livelihoods but also contribute positively to Ghana’s stability and development. He emphasized that the Community Police Assistant initiative embodies the Agency’s dedication to cultivating a responsible, service-driven, and security-conscious youth workforce.
Through strategic partnerships like this one, the YEA continues to empower young people to serve their communities with integrity, vigilance, and respect for the law. The initiative forms part of the Agency’s broader mission to develop a proactive, skilled, and community-focused workforce capable of supporting national priorities and driving sustainable development across all sectors.
With this training programme now underway, thousands of youth are being prepared to play a vital role in strengthening community safety and advancing the collective well-being of the nation.
