YEA CEO Visits Northshore Apparel Ghana, Commits to Recruiting 1,000 Youth

Savelugu, Ghana — The Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), Mr. Malik Basintale, has paid an official working visit to Northshore Apparel Ghana Limited in Savelugu as part of efforts to strengthen partnerships that create sustainable jobs for young people.

The CEO was accompanied by the Deputy Chief Executive Officer in charge of Operations, Mr. Abubakari Saana Abdul Kudus, along with Directors of the Agency. During the visit, the delegation toured the factory facilities to gain first-hand insight into ongoing operations, training systems, and the quality of work being undertaken to prepare young people for employment in the garment and apparel industry.

Management of Northshore Apparel Ghana briefed the team on their production processes and capacity for skills development, highlighting the company’s role in providing employable skills and decent jobs for youth, particularly in the Northern Region.

Following the engagements, Mr. Basintale announced a commitment to recruit 1,000 young people to be trained and subsequently employed by Northshore Apparel Ghana. The initiative forms part of YEA’s broader strategy to expand decent and sustainable employment opportunities for the youth through practical, results-driven collaborations with the private sector.

According to the CEO, partnerships with credible private sector institutions remain key to transforming youth employment from policy intentions into measurable outcomes that positively impact lives and communities.

The visit reaffirms YEA’s commitment to youth empowerment and inclusive economic development, especially in regions with high youth unemployment.
