The Youth Employment Agency (YEA) has reached another remarkable milestone in its ongoing commitment to national safety, capacity building, and youth empowerment. The Deputy CEO in charge of Operations, Mr. Abubakari Sana Abdul-Kudus, representing CEO Malik Basintale, presided over the graduation ceremony of the final batch of Fire Service Assistants at the Fire Service Training School in Wungu, North East Region. This marks the completion of a major phase of the YEA–GNFS partnership, which has trained thousands of young people to support Ghana’s emergency response architecture.

The ceremony celebrated the successful conclusion of a rigorous and comprehensive training programme aimed at equipping young Ghanaians with critical skills in fire safety, emergency response, rescue operations, and community protection. These newly trained assistants will play a vital role in strengthening the operational capacity of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), especially in communities where additional manpower is urgently needed.

This initiative forms part of YEA’s broader national agenda to enhance public safety while creating meaningful and dignified employment opportunities for the youth. By empowering young people with life-saving skills and placing them in essential service roles, the Agency continues to reinforce its mandate of supporting national development through practical, impactful programmes.

YEA extends heartfelt congratulations to all the gallant trainees who have completed this important chapter. Their discipline, dedication, and willingness to serve demonstrate a strong commitment to safeguarding lives and property across Ghana.

The graduation of this final cohort marks yet another significant step forward in building a safer, more resilient nation—powered by a skilled, service-minded, and determined youth workforce. Through initiatives like this, the Youth Employment Agency continues to invest in the future of Ghana while strengthening the systems that protect every community.
