The leadership of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) continued its nationwide regional engagement in the Central Region, where the Chief Executive Officer, Malik Basintale, together with Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Finance and Administration, Prisca Sedinam Kekeshie, Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Operations, Abubakari Saana Abdul-Kudus, and members of Management, met with staff of the Agency to strengthen collaboration and reaffirm the Agency’s commitment to youth employment and staff welfare.
As part of the visit, the Management team paid a courtesy call on the Paramount Chief of the Oguaa Traditional Area, Osabarimba Kwesi Atta II, to seek his blessings and support for the Agency’s activities and engagements within the Central Region.
The visit to the palace highlighted the Agency’s recognition of the important role traditional authorities play in supporting development initiatives and fostering stronger relationships between public institutions and local communities.
During the interaction with the Paramount Chief, discussions centered on youth development, employment creation, and the need for collaborative efforts to empower young people through sustainable opportunities and skills development initiatives.
The YEA delegation expressed appreciation for the warm reception and reaffirmed the Agency’s commitment to implementing impactful programmes that will continue to improve the lives of young people across the region.
Following the courtesy call, Management engaged staff of the Central Regional Office in an interactive session focused on operational performance, institutional growth, staff welfare, and the Agency’s long-term vision for youth empowerment.
The engagement created an open and inclusive platform for staff to share their experiences, discuss challenges, and reflect on the progress made by the Agency in recent months. Staff members also expressed confidence in the direction of leadership and commended Management’s efforts toward improving communication and strengthening collaboration within the institution.
Addressing the staff, Mr. Basintale acknowledged the commitment and strong performance demonstrated by staff since his assumption of office. He noted that the dedication and hard work of staff continue to reflect positively in the increasing number of beneficiaries enrolled across the Agency’s various employment modules and intervention programmes.
According to the CEO, the progress being recorded by the Agency is a direct result of the collective efforts of staff nationwide, whose contributions continue to support the Agency’s mission of creating sustainable employment opportunities for Ghanaian youth.
He emphasized that while expanding opportunities for beneficiaries remains a key priority, the welfare and wellbeing of staff are equally important under his administration.
“Our achievements as an Agency are driven by the commitment and sacrifices of staff across the country. As we work to expand opportunities for beneficiaries, we are equally committed to improving staff welfare and creating a conducive environment that enables everyone to perform effectively,” he stated.
Mr. Basintale further encouraged staff to remain focused, innovative, and dedicated in the discharge of their duties while continuing to uphold the values and vision of the Agency.
Deputy CEO for Operations, Mr. Abdul-Kudus, also addressed staff during the engagement and urged them to remain disciplined, committed, and steadfast in carrying out their responsibilities.
He stressed that professionalism, teamwork, and dedication are essential to sustaining the Agency’s impact and ensuring the successful implementation of programmes aimed at empowering young people.
The interaction also provided an opportunity for Management to listen to concerns raised by staff and discuss practical measures to improve operational efficiency, communication, and service delivery within the region.
The engagement reinforced the shared commitment between leadership and staff to deepen the Agency’s impact, strengthen institutional effectiveness, improve working conditions, and continue creating meaningful opportunities for young people across the country.
As the regional tour continues, the Youth Employment Agency remains focused on building a motivated workforce and expanding innovative employment interventions that contribute to national development and economic empowerment for the youth of Ghana.
