As part of the Youth Employment Agency’s (YEA) ongoing regional engagements aimed at strengthening internal operations and deepening collaboration with staff across the country, the Chief Executive Officer, Malik Basintale, together with the Deputy CEO (Finance & Administration), Prisca Sedinam Kekeshie, Deputy CEO Abubakari Saana Abdul-Kudus, and members of management, engaged staff of the Agency in the Greater Accra Region.

The engagement formed part of management’s broader efforts to connect directly with staff at the regional level, understand their experiences, listen to their concerns, and collectively identify practical ways of improving the Agency’s operations and service delivery. The interaction also provided an opportunity for management to reaffirm its commitment to building a responsive, efficient, and people-centred institution capable of delivering sustainable employment opportunities to young people across Ghana.

During the engagement, discussions focused on strengthening teamwork, improving operational efficiency, promoting accountability, and enhancing coordination among staff. Management emphasised the importance of ensuring that every staff member understands their role in contributing to the Agency’s broader mandate and in delivering employment interventions to young people.

Staff of the Greater Accra Region also had the opportunity to interact directly with management and share their experiences, observations, and ideas on how the Agency could further improve its impact. The open engagement provided a platform for constructive dialogue, with staff encouraged to remain proactive and contribute innovative solutions to challenges encountered in the course of their duties.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Executive Officer, Malik Basintale, commended staff for their hard work, dedication, and commitment to the Agency’s mandate. He noted that the Agency’s growing achievements, expanding programmes, and increasing number of beneficiaries are not solely the result of management’s efforts but also reflect the collective commitment of staff across the Agency’s various regions and operational levels.

The CEO encouraged staff to continue working with a strong sense of purpose and responsibility, stressing that the impact of the Agency ultimately depends on the quality, commitment, and professionalism of the people entrusted with implementing its programmes. He further assured staff that management remains committed to improving staff welfare and creating a supportive working environment where employees can perform effectively and contribute meaningfully to the Agency’s objectives.

He noted that as the Agency continues to expand its employment interventions and reach more young people, there is an equally important need to strengthen the institutional capacity of the Agency and ensure that staff are adequately supported to deliver on their responsibilities.

Deputy CEO (Finance & Administration), Prisca Sedinam Kekeshie, also encouraged staff to maintain high standards of professionalism, accountability, and consistency in the discharge of their duties. She emphasised the importance of integrity and diligence in ensuring that the Agency’s programmes are implemented efficiently and that resources are utilised responsibly in pursuit of the Agency’s mandate.

Deputy CEO Abubakari Saana Abdul-Kudus, for his part, urged staff to remain disciplined, committed, and steadfast in carrying out their responsibilities. He encouraged employees to approach their work with dedication and recognise the important role they play in supporting young people who depend on the Agency’s programmes and services.

The regional engagement further highlighted the importance of effective communication between management and staff. By creating opportunities for direct interaction, management sought to foster a stronger sense of unity and shared responsibility while ensuring that staff remain aligned with the Agency’s strategic direction and priorities.

The Greater Accra engagement is part of the Agency’s continued efforts to strengthen its workforce and promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence across its regional and operational structures. A motivated and well-coordinated workforce remains essential to the successful implementation of employment initiatives and the Agency’s broader objective of empowering Ghanaian youth.

The visit ultimately reinforced YEA management’s resolve to build a motivated, professional, and responsive workforce capable of driving sustainable employment initiatives and extending meaningful opportunities to more young people in the Greater Accra Region and across the country.
