Youth Employment Agency Donates Maize to Senior High Schools in Bono Region
Brong-Ahafo, Ghana – May 6, 2025 – The Youth Employment Agency (YEA), led by CEO Malik Basintale, has made a significant contribution to education in the Bono region by donating bags of maize harvested from the YEA Branam Farms. This donation aims to support selected Senior High Schools in the region, reinforcing the Agency’s commitment to sustainable and community-driven development.
In a ceremony attended by local education authorities and community leaders, Malik Basintale highlighted the YEA’s ongoing efforts to not only create jobs for young people but also contribute to the educational advancement of the region. The donation of maize, which will help ease the food supply challenges faced by schools, serves as a practical demonstration of the Agency’s broader mission to strengthen educational institutions as part of the government’s wider agenda.
“This donation is a testament to the YEA’s holistic approach to development. We recognize that empowering our youth goes beyond employment. It is also about contributing to the well-being and success of our educational institutions, which are crucial in shaping the future of our country,” Basintale said during the handover.
The YEA has long been a strong advocate for youth empowerment, and this initiative underscores their vision of promoting sustainable agricultural practices while creating a positive impact on the communities they serve. Through its Branam Farms initiative, the YEA not only provides food security for local schools but also creates opportunities for young people to engage in agriculture and learn valuable skills that will help secure their futures.
The support from the Youth Employment Agency comes at a critical time for many educational institutions in Ghana, as schools face increasing pressure to meet the nutritional needs of students. With this generous gesture, the YEA continues to play a pivotal role in the government’s efforts to strengthen educational infrastructure and ensure that students across the country have access to the resources they need for success.
This donation is part of a series of initiatives aimed at reinforcing the Agency’s core values of creating sustainable livelihoods and fostering community development. It also aligns with the broader government strategy to create jobs and provide necessary resources to enhance the educational experience for all students in the country.
The Youth Employment Agency’s donation of maize to these schools in the Bono region highlights the importance of collaboration between government agencies and local communities. It is a clear example of how strategic partnerships can help address key issues in education and youth employment, providing a brighter future for all.
